ニホンミツバチのきろく Notes on the Japanese Honeybee
2025年春、ニホンミツバチがお寺にやってきました。
大きなきっかけは、去年、2024年11月20日の「だいたい水曜日（つどいの場）」で、猿田 千帆（陶工房ゆきふらし）さんから「蜜蜂の話」を伺ったことでした。もちろん、それまでも千帆さんからミツバチの魅力をたくさん聞いていたのですが、この日のお話で自分でもやってみたいと決心をしました。
ニホンミツバチが安心して暮らせる環境にあるお寺であり続けることができたらいいなと思います。それは人はもちろん、生きとし生けるものみんなに良い環境なはず。慣れないことばかりですので、いろいろと教えて頂きながら、その記録を綴っていきたいと思います。
この小さな営みが、この場所の営みのひとつになっていけたらうれしく思います。
In the spring of 2025, Japanese honeybees came to live at the temple.
The turning point came on November 20, 2024, during our “Wednesday Gathering,” when I had the opportunity to hear Chihō Saruta of Yukifurashi Pottery Studio speak about bees. I had long been fascinated by what she shared about their world, but something about that day’s conversation moved me to begin keeping bees myself.
I hope this temple can remain a place where Japanese honeybees feel safe and at home. If it is a good place for them, it will surely be a good place for people — and for all living beings as well.
As this is new to me, I will continue learning along the way and quietly record the journey.
May this small practice become part of the life of this place.
